Updating on Vietnam's response efforts to the risks from the hantavirus, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang affirmed at the regular press conference on the afternoon of May 14 that Vietnam has not detected any cases of infection with this virus.
Also according to the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vietnam still regularly updates information, closely monitors the epidemic situation in the world, strictly implements border medical quarantine procedures, proactively tightens epidemic surveillance right from border gates, and at medical examination and treatment facilities; sanitation and disinfection and proactively takes appropriate epidemic prevention and control measures to minimize the risk of hantavirus entering Vietnam.
At the same time, Vietnamese functional agencies have issued recommendations to people in the country to continue to implement environmental sanitation and implement measures to prevent and control infectious diseases.
Domestic functional agencies are also closely coordinating with the World Health Organization (WHO) and relevant agencies to update on developments, assess risks and implement appropriate and timely measures, as well as inform people when there are new developments.
