Local authorities said that the accident occurred on the evening of March 3, the team was on its way to Jarabacoa to attend a friendly match when the driver lost control.
According to Dominicans' El Nacional, the bus driver was traveling at high speeds at the time. Before the accident, one of the people in the car asked the driver if he could slow down.
The 5 passengers on the bus who died were all members of the team. A Haiti national suffered a broken right arm and a shoulder injury.
After the incident, local authorities were present at the scene to handle and investigate the cause of the accident.
