This is the 3rd training course organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) in coordination with the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), following the success of the previous 2 courses in the 2015-2019 and 2022-2023 periods. The special thing about this course is that the AFC has specially allowed VFF to organize 2 consecutive training courses, instead of 2 years apart as usual.
This decision is to help domestic coaches promptly meet professional criteria and be licensed to compete in AFC tournaments.
The Pro training course phase 2 continues to have direct guidance from Mr. Kageyama Masanaga - Technical Director of the Japan Football Association (JFA) and Mr. Koshida Takeshi - Technical Director of VFF. At the same time, students will gain knowledge from leading experts of JFA, local football federations and prestigious football training centers in Japan.

The content of this in-depth training includes outstanding topics such as developing youth football, analyzing matches and organizing grassroots football. In addition to theoretical lectures, students also have the opportunity to directly watch and do practical research on matches in Japan's youth tournaments and top professional tournaments.
The training course was attended by 18 trainees who are outstanding coaches working in the V.League, First Division and national teams.
Notable among them are coach Vu Hong Viet (Nam Dinh Steel Blue, V-League champion for two consecutive seasons 2023-2024 and 2024-2025), coach Nguyen Viet Thang (who just won the promotion to V.League 2025-2026 with Phu Dong Ninh Binh), coach Pham Thanh Luong (assistant of Hanoi Police team, winner of the National Cup), and especially the presence of women's coach Nguyen Thi Mai Lan - former national player, currently leading the Vietnam youth women's team.
In addition, the course also has other famous coaches such as Dinh Hong Vinh (assistant to the national team), Bui Doan Quang Huy, Van Sy Son, Nguyen Thanh Cong, Pham Minh Duc, Phan Nhu Thuat, Le Phuoc Tu, Thach Bao Khanh, Huynh Quoc Anh, Tran Trong Binh, Nguyen Van Dan, Tran Tien Dai, Dang Van Thanh and Mauro Alexandre Tavares Jeronimo.
Phase 2 of the Pro training course will take place until July 21, 2025 in Japan. After completing this phase, students will continue to complete phase 3 from August to November 2025 at clubs or football centers, and phase 4 in December 2025 in Vietnam.
This will be an important foundation to help Vietnamese coaches improve their professional capacity, meet the standards for coaches participating in national professional tournaments and AFC tournaments, and thereby contribute to promoting the sustainable development of the country's football.
