According to the wishes of athlete Doan Thu Hang, the coaching staff of the Vietnamese Athletics Team does not propose athletes to the professional training list from January 2026.
Doan Thu Hang won a silver medal in the women's 3,000m hurdles event at the recent SEA Games 33. The Quang Ninh athlete shared right on the medal podium in Thailand that SEA Games 33 is her first and last Games.
Through research, Doan Thu Hang wants to aim for youth athletics professional training at the Quang Ninh managing unit.
Therefore, she expressed her wish to leave the national team after SEA Games 33 and was approved.
Doan Thu Hang has returned to Quang Ninh unit, practicing professionally and aiming for new jobs in the future. However, she also practices maintaining her expertise to participate in the X-2026 National Sports Games before moving to a new job.
The coaching staff of the Vietnamese Athletics Team has a personnel plan to replace Doan Thu Hang to add to the women's 3,000m hurdles group, continuing training with athlete Nguyen Thi Oanh at this time.
The Vietnamese athletics team has been training since January 2026 and has many international tournaments this year.
Doan Thu Hang was born in 2001. On the first day of the new year on January 1st, she participated in the Vietnam International Half Marathon 2026 in Hanoi and won the first place in the 10km professional women's race.
