On August 15, the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports held the 1st Congress of the Hanoi City Volleyball Federation, term 2025-2030.

In recent years, Hanoi volleyball has built a widespread movement foundation, a place for training and competition for 8 professional volleyball teams (4 men's, 4 women's). In particular, the Hanoi volleyball movement is leading the country.
In terms of high achievements, Hanoi volleyball has had marks such as the men's bronze medal at the 2022 national championship and the promotion of the women's team in 2024.
The men's youth team also just won the silver medal at the 2025 National Youth Championship. Every year, Hanoi volleyball has athletes called up to the national team.
However, these achievements do not fully reflect the potential of the capital's volleyball: there is no system for youth training as well as close linkage between levels from schools, clubs to national teams; facilities do not meet the needs; financial resources are heavily dependent on the budget, while socialization work is not effective.
Therefore, the establishment of the Hanoi Volleyball Federation is expected to professionalize management, synchronize the training and development system, and develop the great potential of Hanoi volleyball from the movement to the top.

Accordingly, the Congress elected the Executive Committee of the first term consisting of 15 people and the Standing Committee of 5 people.
Ms. Tran Thuy Chi - Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Vietcontent Company was elected as Chairwoman; Mr. Nguyen Viet Hoa - Director of the Center for Physical Education and Sports, Hanoi National University was elected as Permanent Vice President; Mr. Bui Dinh Loi - Head of Hanoi Volleyball Department was elected as Vice President and General Secretary.
At the Congress, new President Tran Thuy Chi shared: "With the honor and responsibility of the President of the Hanoi City Volleyball Federation, I would like to commit to the Executive Committee of the first term to unite, innovate, and promote collective intelligence to fulfill the important responsibilities assigned by the Congress".
Currently, Ms. Tran Thuy Chi is also holding the role of Vice President of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation.

In addition, the Congress also approved 3 important strategic orientations for the 2025-2030 term:
- Develop high-performance volleyball: Develop a roadmap to train young athletes from the grassroots level to the national team; improve the professional quality of the men's/women's team to be able to compete for high achievements in national and international tournaments, with many excellent athletes wearing the national team jersey. Strive to have 1 volleyball team win the National Volleyball Championship during term I.
Promote grassroots volleyball and schools, closely coordinate with the Department of Education and Training, with schools to organize student volleyball tournaments, create a more professional competition system for schools; build volleyball clubs in schools, include volleyball in physical education programs...
Promote resource socialization: Diversify resources through business community connection programs; enhance communication, promote the image of tournaments and teams to attract sponsors and fans, create highly commercial tournaments... to improve facilities and quality of training for coaches and athletes.
