Thai volleyball female referee surprised by the affection of Vietnamese fans

After many times on duty at volleyball tournaments in Vietnam, female referee Angkana Wongrot could not help but be surprised by the affection and love from fans.

After completing the task in the second phase of the 2025 SEA V.League volleyball tournament, female referee Angkana Wongrot and the Thai team returned home to continue their work in the land of the Golden Temple.

On his personal page, Angkana Wongrot posted many memorable moments in Ninh Binh. These are photos that she took with other referees in Hoa Lu ancient town. Everyone experienced the culture, cuisine, and captured a memorable photo at one of the famous places.

Before coming to Vietnam, Angkana expressed her interest in Ninh Binh with tourist destinations such as Trang An, Tam Coc, Bich Dong... The female referee is a passionate "epidemic" person, so her Facebook is always flooded with images of famous places.

Sharing with Lao Dong reporter, Angkana Wongrot said: The 2025 SEA V.League in Ninh Binh is the third time I have had the opportunity to visit Vietnam. The first time I came to work at the SEA V.League was 2 years ago in Vinh Phuc, and the second time at VTV9 - Binh Dien 2024 in Dak Lak.

Every time I come to Vietnam, I feel very warm because each city has its own beauty and friendly, lovely people. I would like to thank everyone once again for their support."

The Thai referee expressed: "I am ready to give everyone a smile, because this is the only thing I can do to make everyone feel my friendliness and energy from the first meeting. And most importantly, my smile can be the representative of the Thais to give to the Vietnamese friends".

After seasons working in Vietnam, Angkana Wongrot has attracted a large number of Vietnamese fans. Under her posts on her social media account, there are many likes and comments from Vietnamese audiences.

She scores points with fans for her pretty appearance, elegant face, always shining even without elaborate makeup. The special thing about the Thai female referee is her radiant smile that always blossoms on her lips.

"I was very surprised to receive great affection from Vietnamese friends. I asked a Vietnamese friend about this and he said that it was because of my smile and joy that Vietnamese fans loved me. Hopefully, in the future, I will have the opportunity to return to Vietnam many times," Angkana said.

Angkana is an referee of the Thai Volleyball Federation. She was trusted and invited to Vietnam to participate in holding a horn and performing duties at international volleyball tournaments for many consecutive years.

Angkana has also appeared in many regional and continental tournaments such as AVC Cup 2021, SEA V.League 2023, SEA Games 32, VTV9-Binh Dien...

Talking about the opportunity to get this job, Angkana said: Actually, I was an athlete, but I suffered an ankle injury in a competition and had to give up.

Because of my love for volleyball and because there were quite a few female referees at that time, I wanted to become a Thai woman who was an international referee.

I started as an referee in 2015 and completed AVC's international referee training course in 2017, then continued this job until now".
