Australian Open Semi-final: Cilic awaits opponent to compete for the throne

The first name to appear in the Final - Marin Cilic has excellently surpassed England's hope of Kyle Edmund after an easy semi-final.

With experience as a Grand Slam champion, Marin Cilic clearly showed his superiority in each of his balls against an inexperienced young tennis player like Kyle Edmund.

This was clearly demonstrated in the first set of the semi-final. Taking advantage of the strong passes and attacks, the Croatian tennis player continuously pressured the opponent. The turning point came in the 6th game when Cilic successfully broke Edmund's serve game before winning the next 2 games to end set 1 with a score of 6-2.

In set 2, Edmund gradually caught up with the match and countered the opponent's attacks, which helped him preserve his ball- handling games. The tug of war forced the two players to enter a brain-weigh tie-break. And in this series of matches, Cilic was still the one who showed more courage when winning 7-6.

In sets 3, things became much more favorable and easier for Cilic when the No. 6 seed quickly took the lead when successfully breaking the opponent's 2 breaks in the 3rd and 7th games, ending Kyle Edmund's Grand Slam dream with a score of 6-2.

With a 3-0 victory, Marin Cilic registered his name for the 2018 Australian Open final. This is the third time the Croatian tennis player has participated in a Grand Slam final. His opponent will be the winner of the men's singles semi-final 2 between Roger Federer and Hyeon Chung.
