On July 13, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietjet and the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) announced a cooperation agreement, according to which this airline becomes the official airline partner of four tournaments belonging to the ASEAN United FC system.
Tournaments within the cooperation framework include ASEAN Cup, ASEAN Club Championship, ASEAN Women's Cup and the U23 Southeast Asian Championship. The agreement was connected and completed through SPORTFIVE - AFF's exclusive trading partner.
According to AFF, the cooperation will be implemented from the ASEAN Hyundai Cup 2026 campaign, and expanded to the remaining tournaments in the ASEAN United FC system. The two sides expect the companionship to contribute to strengthening connections between fans, teams, clubs and destinations in Southeast Asia.
Mr. To Viet Thang - Standing Deputy General Director of Vietjet said that cooperation with ASEAN United FC is part of the orientation to accompany international sports events, thereby promoting connections between countries, communities and contributing to promoting the image of Southeast Asia.
Meanwhile, AFF President Khiev Sameth assessed Vietjet as a suitable partner for the development orientation of Southeast Asian football thanks to its wide network of connections throughout the region. According to him, the cooperation is expected to create more favorable conditions for the movement of teams, partners and fans, and contribute to spreading the value of solidarity through football.
According to the plan, Vietjet will accompany ASEAN United FC's activities in the role of an official aviation partner, supporting connectivity between member countries and regional football events in the coming time.
