On the morning of May 26, at Tien Son Sports Palace (Da Nang), the final match of the men's and women's doubles event of the 43rd Nhan Dan Newspaper National Table Tennis Championship took place.
The match is a competition between Nguyen Van Nam - Nguyen Khoa Dieu Khanh (HCMC) and Nguyen Thanh Luan - Le Hoang Thuy Lam (Dong Nai). Although not highly appreciated by their opponents, the Dong Nai couple surprised everyone when they entered the match enthusiastically. Both Thanh Luan and Thuy Lam played proactively.
In particular, with extensive experience, Nguyen Thanh Luan has many good defensive situations, neutralizing the opponent's uncomfortable kicks. In addition, deep delivery tactics and flexible rotation speed helped the Dong Nai duo win 11-9 in set 1.
After being unexpectedly defeated, the HCMC couple regained their spirit and adjusted their tactics in set 2. Van Nam and Dieu Khanh quickly showed their maturity in ball handling. They proactively increased the speed on the ball, attacked more and effectively took advantage of the hand-to-hand kicks. This helped the HCMC duo win 11-9 to tie the score at 1-1.

Entering set 3, with a strong mentality in the decisive moments, the HCMC representative continued to win 11-9 to take a 2-1 lead.
In a difficult situation, the two tennis players from Dong Nai played with determination in set 4. This created a dramatic and attractive tug-of-war set. The two sides took turns scoring. However, their physical strength and experience in the opening match helped Dieu Khanh and Van Nam continuously handle the ball difficultly.
As a result, the Ho Chi Minh City duo won 11-8 in set 4, thereby defeating Dong Nai with a final score of 3-1 and winning the gold medal.
This is the 3rd gold medal of Ho Chi Minh City table tennis in this year's tournament. They previously won the championship in the women's team and women's doubles events. Nguyen Khoa Dieu Khanh is the owner of all three gold medals above. She will continue to compete in the women's singles event on the evening of May 26.
