After the fire on the evening of July 6 at Doc Lap residence (Phu Tho Hoa ward) that killed 8 people, residents are urgently dismantling the works encroaching on the corridor and "tiger cages" that closed the balcony at the request of the authorities.
According to Lao Dong on July 8, the scene of the fire at Doc Lap residence was still blocked off to serve the investigation.

At the request of the government, many households have proactively hired workers to dismantle the iron fences and rolling doors that were once installed along the corridor to occupy the common area as a place for parking and storage. Some families also removed all the iron frames of the "tiger cages" on the balcony to create an escape route.
Mr. B (58 years old, a resident here) said that at the meeting of the residents, the authorities clearly announced the request to dismantle the illegal constructions. He added that during the fire, an approach of the fire truck was obstructed by the porch of a household encroaching outside. On July 8, this household hired someone to dismantle the porch roof.

The People's Committee of Phu Tho Hoa Ward has requested the Doc Lap Residential Management Board and households to urgently dismantle the expanded areas that are not in accordance with regulations to ensure fire safety and urban aesthetics, expected to be completed by July 10, 2025.

The fire broke out at around 9:30 p.m. on July 6 on the ground floor of an apartment in a 5-storey Doc Lap residential area in alley 80 Do Doc Long Street. The fire quickly spread, burning down many properties and killing 8 people, although the authorities promptly approached and rescued 3 others.
In addition to the work of overcoming the consequences, agencies and organizations have provided timely support to the victims' families.
