From the historic match in 1970 to the Army sports symbol
Originating from the internal sports movement in the Information Corps in the late 1960s, the first women's volleyball team was a group of female soldiers who were passionate about football, practicing in difficult conditions.
They are military officers who have completed their professional missions and taken advantage of training and competition as a way to nurture the team spirit and the vitality of soldiers.
The milestone that shaped the team's fate was on August 15, 1970, when the team competed to serve the Central Military Commission Conference in Tam Dao and was directly followed and encouraged by Senior Lieutenant General Van Tien Dung.
The emotional match and the brave spirit of the female soldiers created a strong impression, and from there, the team was assigned the task of developing professionally, becoming the representative of the Information Command at national A-class volleyball tournaments.
August 15 officially became the team's traditional day, opening a brilliant journey that lasted for more than half a century afterwards.

From difficult years with a lack of training conditions, the team has gradually risen to affirm its position. Many generations of coaches and athletes have been determined to build a team that is not only strong in expertise but also imbued with military identity.
Names such as coach Phan Thanh Lang - the founder, the two talented passersby Le Bich Kha, Pham Thi Yen - a symbol of perseverance, Do Thi Minh - captain of the National team, or Bui Thi Nga, Doan Thi Lam Oanh, Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh... are all typical representatives of the spirit of "playing like a fight", burning themselves out on the battlefield and being exemplary in military life.

Stay traditional, reach professional and integrated
The identity of "Information" is not only expressed through disciplined, collective competition style but also comes from a deep training strategy. With the motto "transfer - train - keep people", the Information Corps women's volleyball club has built a strict three-line training system, early detection and comprehensive training from a very young age.
In particular, young athletes before entering the profession all go through a new soldier training course, learning to command, apply tactics, and shoot. This helped them form military air force from the beginning.

From this model, the club continuously produces new talents such as Pham Quynh Huong, Dinh Ngoc Van Anh... and won 14 national youth championships. This is something that few teams can do.
Not only developing expertise, the club also equips athletes with cultural knowledge, IT, and life skills, helping them prepare for life after sports, whether staying in the Army or developing their own careers.
Along with that, modern facilities at Phuong Liet Sports Training Center and the support of units are an important factor contributing to raising the club's level.
Up to now, the club has won 103 domestic and international championships, dozens of athletes and coaches are called up to the national team every year, affirming their leading position and making great contributions to the Army sports as well as Vietnamese sports.

Entering a new stage of development, the club continues to aim to improve professional quality, promote international exchanges, innovate training methods and develop successors with sufficient qualifications, qualities and ideals.
With a solid traditional foundation, the spirit of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" always imbued with each running step and smash, the Information Corps women's volleyball club will certainly go far, maintain its pioneering position in high-performance sports and continue to strongly inspire today's and future generations of athletes.
