Pressure is motivation
The Vietnam women's volleyball team won 3-2 against Thailand in the final match of the second phase of the 2025 SEA V.League. Looking back at the victory, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet said: "This is an emotional victory for the team. Our players were under pressure when they were behind, but they kept their focus to play enthusiastically again.
The captain of the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team affirmed that the confrontations between us and the Thai women's team all put pressure on Vietnamese players. In the match in Ninh Binh, the coaching staff used a number of reserve players to enter the field to have options to ensure tactics. When playing, they played openly. This is our test to help players overcome psychological pressure in big matches.
Mr. Nguyen Tuan Kiet returned to become the head coach of the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team from June 2022. Since then, we have faced the Thai team more than 10 times and have not won. Therefore, the coaching staff must find a way to help athletes overcome psychological barriers to be ready to play fairly against Thailand.
The key task is the 33rd SEA Games
The Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports and the Vietnam Volleyball Federation assigned the target of winning the 33rd SEA Games Gold Medal to the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team. Experts know very well that our direct opponent at this SEA Games is the Thai team.
General Secretary of the Vietnam Athletics Federation, Mr. Le Tri Truong once shared: The Thai team plays at home, so it is not easy for them to win. The target of winning the Gold Medal is a very difficult pressure, but this is a key task. We prepare the best conditions for Vietnamese women's volleyball to practice and compete."
The Vietnam women's volleyball team is currently in the first phase of the 2025 training session. The program ended after the team competed in the 2025 World Championship. The second training session will resume at the end of October 2025. This is an important training period to specifically determine the performance of the player who finds the best drop point to compete in the 33rd SEA Games.
Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet is regularly using 15 players at the AVC Nations Cup 2025, VTV Cup 2025 and SEA V.League 2025.However, no player is sure to have an official place to participate in the 33rd SEA Games.
After the second phase of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship, we will specifically shape the force towards the 33rd SEA Games, revealed the coaching staff of the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team.
