Thanh Thuy faces her old team
Today, main attacker Tran Thi Thanh Thuy took the field to compete in the 2026 Japan National Volleyball Championship. She and Gunma Green Wings faced PFU BlueCats - the team Thanh Thuy used to play for.
In the first 2 sets, Gunma Green Wings started quite erratically, lacking cohesion in defense and attack organization compared to the opponent. Therefore, they let PFU BlueCats take the initiative and win 2 sets in a row.

In the 3rd half, Thanh Thuy and her teammates regained their spirits, playing with high determination. The two teams struggled for each point in a tense match. Gunma Green Wings' efforts helped them win and equalize to 1-2.
However, Gunma Green Wings did not maintain that advantage and suffered a set 4 defeat, thereby losing to PFU BlueCats with a score of 1-3 (16-25, 22-25, 25-23, 22-25) overall.
In this match, Thanh Thuy scored 19 points, achieving an efficiency of 36.54%. Despite having an excellent performance, the captain of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team still could not have the joy of victory with the whole team.
Bich Thuy shines
Contrary to Thanh Thuy, middle blocker Tran Thi Bich Thuy won with Okayama SeaGulls against Kurobe AquaFairies. This is an opponent considered to be within reach of the team Bich Thuy is playing for.
As predicted, the Okayama SeaGulls girls played proactively. In the first two sets, despite being continuously pressed by the opponent, Bich Thuy shone and brought victory to the home team.

In set 3, Okayama SeaGulls unexpectedly let their opponent reverse with regret and forced the match to enter the 4th set. However, Bich Thuy and her teammates knew how to win, thereby defeating Kurobe AquaFairies with a final score of 3-1 (25-22, 29-27, 25-27, 25-21).
In this match, Bich Thuy scored 17 points (4 blocks, achieving an efficiency of 48.2%). Her brilliance contributed to helping Okayama win their 4th victory this season.
Vietnam seeks location to host SEA V.League 2026
According to the plan, Southeast Asian volleyball leaders will have a working program to discuss and decide on the organizational content of the SEA V.League 2026 for men's and women's events (including time and location).
In this tournament, Vietnam continues to hold the role of host of a stage of the SEA V.League 2026 tournament. However, the decision on whether Vietnam will host the men's or women's events has not yielded results.
After being decided on the hosting content of this year's tournament, the Vietnam Volleyball Federation will proceed to find a suitable venue. Last year, the Ninh Binh provincial gymnasium was the venue for stage 2 of the women's SEA V.League 2025.
