This year, the 2026 Asian Beach Games will be held in April in China. The Vietnam Volleyball Federation has developed a plan to register the national men's and women's beach volleyball teams to participate in the Games.
The last time Vietnamese men's and women's beach volleyball teams competed internationally was SEA Games 33 in Thailand in December last year.
In this competition, the Vietnamese men's and women's beach volleyball teams both won bronze medals. This is one of the few times that both Vietnamese beach volleyball teams have won medals when participating in the SEA Games.
The Asian Volleyball Federation has just announced the 2026 competition program for beach volleyball. In which, many important tournaments will take place from February to November.
This year, ASIAD 20 in Japan and the 2026 World Youth Olympics in Senegal will host beach volleyball.
At the same time, the 2026 Asian Beach Volleyball Championship will be considered one of the qualifying tournaments for the 2028 Olympic spot.
Vietnamese beach volleyball participated in SEA Games 33 with athletes: Le Hoang Y, Tran Van Viet, Nguyen Anh Tuan, Nguyen Lam Toi (men) and Nguyen Le Thi Tuong Vy, Chau Ngoc Lan, Dinh Thi My Nga, Mai Hong Hanh (women).
The head coach of Vietnam men's beach volleyball is Mr. Truong Huu Tan and the head coach of women's volleyball is Mr. Pham Ba Chung.
