Phu Yen hosts the 2025 Asian Women's Beach Volleyball Championship for the first time

Phu Yen - On the afternoon of April 21, the Organizing Committee of the 2025 Asian Women's Beach Volleyball Championship - Cloud Gate Cup held a press conference to provide official information about the tournament.

The tournament is organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Phu Yen province in coordination with the Asian Volleyball Federation, the Vietnam Volleyball Federation and Cong May Group Joint Stock Company, taking place from April 22 to 29.

The opening ceremony of the 2025 Asian Women's Beach Volleyball Championship - Cloud Gate Cup will take place at 8:00 a.m. on April 25 and close at 4:00 p.m. on April 28.

Of which, the official matches will be held from April 25 to 28 at the beach near the L'Aurora Phu Yen project area (Tran Nhan Tong street, Binh Kien commune, Tuy Hoa city).

The tournament brings together 22 teams from 10 countries and territories, with 44 athletes competing. In which, there are many strong teams from Australia, Japan, Thailand, China. host Vietnam alone has 4 teams participating in the competition.

At the press conference, Mr. Le Hoang Phu - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Phu Yen province - said that preparations for the tournament have been basically completed. The organizing committee and the sponsoring unit have coordinated to build 2 competition courts and 1 warm-up courts according to international standards; security, fire prevention and fighting, healthcare, sound, and irrigation systems have also been invested synchronously.

In addition, plans for welcoming, arranging accommodation, travel, and interpreters for international athlete delegations have also been carefully prepared.

"This is the first time Phu Yen has hosted a continental sports tournament. With the support of relevant units, the locality has made careful preparations to ensure the best conditions for the tournament to take place successfully, safely and impressively," Mr. Phu affirmed.
