National Championship 2025 Regulations

The Volleyball Department (Department of Sports and Physical Training) and the Vietnam Volleyball Federation (VFV) have recently officially issued the competition regulations for the 2025 national championship.

The tournament will continue to compete in 2 stages like the 2024 season. All teams will compete in a round-robin group stage and then be ranked from 1 to 8. With the current number of teams, each men's and women's team of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship will play a total of 7 matches in the group stage.

"At the end of the round-robin competition, the top 4 teams (from 1 to 4) will enter the final round; the 4 teams ranked from 5 to 8 will compete in a round-robin to calculate points (the points of the 4 teams will be added to the points of the 4 teams meeting in the 8-team round-robin to determine the ranking, the last ranked team will be relegated to Division A in 2026," one of the regulations of the competition regulations was issued.

Hung Vuong Cup has not determined the participating team yet.

Hung Vuong Cup is one of the tournaments that receives the attention of fans because of its high professional quality, gathering the 4 strongest men's and women's football teams in the country.

In 2025, the tournament decided to return to the old format of selecting the 4 teams with the best results after the first phase of the 2025 national championship. This means that the organizing committee has not yet been able to determine the participating teams.

Phase 1 of the 2025 national championship will take place from March 22 to March 31. The top 4 men's and women's teams will compete in the 2025 Hung Vuong Cup. This makes fans even more eager to see which teams will compete in the tournament in Phu Tho.

The possibility of Bich Thuy returning to Vietnam

After the regulations of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship were issued, fans turned their attention to the possibility of Tran Thi Bich Thuy returning to play for the Duc Giang Chemicals team.

The 2000-born player is currently playing in Korea for GS Caltex. She will play 18 matches with the final group stage clash against Hungkuk taking place on March 20. If GS Caltex wins the right to enter the play-off round, Bich Thuy may lose another month of competition in Korea.

Meanwhile, the first phase of the 2025 Vietnam National Championship will start from March 22 to March 31 in Dong Anh, Hanoi. Therefore, it is highly likely that Bich Thuy will still be able to return to Vietnam to participate in the first phase with Duc Giang Chemicals but will not be able to play all the matches with her home team.
