The Vietnamese bowling team is competing in the 2025 Asian Youth and Youth bowling Championship and won its first gold medal. The results were won by player Nguyen Tan Dat in the men's individual event on the evening of July 28.
Nguyen Tan Dat competed with a total of 1,376 points to be the first, winning the championship. With a score of 1 point above their direct competitor, Walaphut Andrew Wong (Thailand). The bronze medalist in the event was Malaysia's young face Wan Muhammad Zarif Mazlan.
Achievement statistics show that Nguyen Tan Dat's result is the first gold medal for Vietnamese bowling at the tournament under the Asian official system.
This year, the 2025 Asian Youth and junior bowling Championship held in Qatar attracted nearly 100 athletes from countries and territories in the continent including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, China, Hong Kong (China), Taiwan (China), Bahrain, Thailand, Malaysia, India, Vietnam and Qatar (host).
Athletes compete in individual, team and doubles age groups until August 2. This time, Vietnamese sports sent the best young players to participate.
