On the morning of March 28, the organizing committee of the 2025 TPM tournament held a rehearsal of the flag-raising ceremony at the special national relic site on both banks of Hien Luong - Ben Hai. This is a sacred, meaningful event that has caused strong emotions for participants.
Ms. Le Thi Hoang Yen, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports, said that the event had a meaningful past gratitude, arousing national pride as well as educating the spirit of patriotism for the participants. The moment the flag was raised on the flagpole, all participants sang the National Anthem in a solemn and emotional atmosphere.

On the same afternoon, the delegation of members of the organizing committee of the national marathon and long-distance championship of Tien Phong newspaper held an incense offering ceremony at Truong Son cemetery and Quang Tri ancient citadel 9 cemetery and performed a flower lantern release ceremony at the ceremony house - the flower release wharf on the north bank of Thach Han river.
The event was attended by Mr. Phung Cong Suong - Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper, co-Head of the Tien Phong Marathon 2025 Organizing Committee; Mr. Le Xuan Son - former Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper; Miss Do Thi Ha and members of TPM 2025.
Mr. Phung Cong Suong was moved to say that this is an event to pay tribute to the heroes and martyrs who heroically sacrificed their lives in the Quang Tri Liberation Campaign, protecting the ancient citadel in the hot summer of 2012.
