Television units that want to officially perform at the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand will have to pay the Organizing Committee a fee of 20,000 USD.
The above information was discussed by representatives of the Vietnam Olympic Committee. Accordingly, the Olympic Committees of each country are selected by the Organizing Committee of the 33rd SEA Games as the unit to announce the production fee for their country's television unit.
The collection of television copyright fees is unlikely to be implemented for the 33rd SEA Games, but the figure of 20,000 USD is considered a symbolic fee.
The Organizing Committee of the 33rd SEA Games informed the Olympic Committees of countries that livestreaming (live broadcasting) on social networking platforms by individuals, media units, and television stations that are not partners of the Organizing Committee will be prohibited.
According to regulations, the copyright for the SEA Games television on the territory of the host country is the exclusive ownership of the Olympic Committee of that country.
Television and radio units that want to have a TV signal image about the SEA Games must have the prior consent of the National Olympic Committee to represent them and then go to the host National Olympic Committee.
The 33rd SEA Games will take place from December 9 to December 20. However, some sports will compete early (based on the competition schedule).
In the upcoming meetings of the Southeast Asian Sports Council and the Organizing Committee of Thailand, how many sports will be produced to directly serve fans will be announced soon.
