Hoang Thanh Giang is the athlete who won the gold medal in the 7 women's doubles event in the past three years (2023, 2024, 2025). However, the achievement exceeding the national record was confirmed by her as an unexpected result.
She shared: I have prepared carefully to ensure the best score for each content in 7 subjects. When the group ended, I realized I had set a national record. Certainly, my next goal is to win the highest position at the 33rd SEA Games.
Hoang Thanh Giang participated in the 33rd SEA Games and achieved 5,103 points, ranking fourth. At that time, Nguyen Linh Na won the gold medal with a result of 5,403 points.

Her achievement surpasses the 6m28 mark that was won by athlete Maria Natalia Londa (Indonesia) at the 32nd SEA Games.
In addition, 6m40 is the result achieved by athlete Reihaneh Mobini (Iran) to win the gold medal in the long jump at the 2025 Asian Athletics Championship.
