Mr. Vu Nguyen - General Secretary of the Vietnam Golf Association (VGA) - said that the Vietnam Golf Team has built a goal of striving to protect the gold medal in golf that the player achieved at the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia.
The VGA General Secretary said: This year, the Thai Golf Team is the host and aims to win gold medals in the competition events. Vietnamese golf players will have to compete fiercely against their opponents to defend the gold medal they are holding.
The Vietnamese golf team has not yet decided on the official list of members participating in the 33rd SEA Games. The deadline for final registration with the Golf Organizing Committee is September 1.
The coaching staff of the Vietnam Golf Team carefully reviews the achievements of each player at the 2025 National Golf Championship and then selects the face to officially register for the 33rd SEA Games.
Previously, the Vietnam Golf Team awarded four spots to golfers Ho Anh Huy, Nguyen Trong Hoang (men), Le Chuc An, Anna Le (women) for participating in the 33rd SEA Games thanks to the best results of the 2025 National Amateur Golf Championship. Currently, Le Chuc An is the reigning women's champion of the national golf tournament.
The golf sport of the 33rd SEA Games will organize a competition of four sets of medals including men's team, women's team, men's singles, and women's singles.
At the 32nd SEA Games, we won a gold medal in men's singles (competitor Le Khanh Hung), a gold medal in men's team (Nguyen Anh Minh, Doan Uy, Le Khanh Hung) and a bronze medal in men's singles (Nguyen Anh Minh).
Two players Nguyen Anh Minh and Le Khanh Hung are focusing on competing in the US, so they will be absent from the 2025 National Golf Championship. The tournament took place from August 18 in Gia Lai.
