Football cannot be neglected
The 32nd SEA Games held last year in Cambodia saw Vietnam’s men’s football team fail. Coach Philippe Troussier could not help the U22 Vietnam team reach the final. The men’s football team finished third, receiving a Bronze Medal.
The Thai organizing committee of the 33rd SEA Games has announced that football will include field football, futsal, and beach soccer. Sports leaders will work with the Vietnam Football Federation and the coaching staff of the football teams to grasp the specific preparations and goals for the 33rd SEA Games.
The Vietnamese women's football team won the Gold Medal at the 32nd SEA Games. Therefore, the journey in Thailand a year from now will certainly be nothing more than the women's team trying to reach the final match and defend their current title.
In 2023, coach Philippe Troussier did not leave much confidence because right from the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia, the French strategist lacked the determination to achieve the best results.
The lessons in men's football at SEA Games 32 have been an experience for Vietnamese sports managers to see clearly and draw more lessons for themselves. Coach Kim Sang Sik is expected to bring the best results for Vietnamese men's football at SEA Games 33.
What subjects are left with opportunities?
Statistics show that Vietnamese sports won Gold Medals at the 32nd SEA Games in basketball (women's 3x3 event), women's football, golf, sepak takraw, billiards, and table tennis.
SEA Games 33, many sports in the ball group will be included in the competition including football, tennis, petanque, golf, basketball, sepak takraw, billiards, hockey, volleyball, table tennis, teqball, baseball, softball, netball, floorball... There is an opportunity for Vietnamese sports and many other countries to compete for the Gold Medal in the ball group at SEA Games 33.
We have not yet decided on the specific content to register for participation. According to the sports industry, the departments under the Department of Physical Education and Sports have grasped the total number of medal sets in their subjects organized by Thailand at the 33rd SEA Games.
After reviewing and examining the force and the ability to prepare professionally, the subjects will register preliminarily and report to defend the professional plan. Registration also means ensuring achievements. Because the sports in the ball group have individual sports and collective sports, Vietnamese sports must calculate appropriately before registering to participate.
According to forecasts, football, volleyball, and table tennis will face many difficulties if they want to compete for medals at the 33rd SEA Games because host Thailand has begun to focus on preparing key forces for each specific event.
The sports in the ball group have their own characteristics, especially attracting enthusiastic support from fans. Not only football, volleyball, table tennis, but also sports such as golf, billiards, basketball, tennis... attract much attention and achievement goals from sports management levels.
The common point in these sports is that Vietnamese sports have had athletes win Gold Medals at the SEA Games, so we believe that we will continue to be successful at the 33rd SEA Games. The biggest expectation of sports fans lies in volleyball. Vietnamese sports have never won a Gold Medal in volleyball at the SEA Games.
With the 33rd SEA Games, we have a squad of players in their prime (male and female) so fans do not want them to miss the opportunity to make a name for themselves. Currently, countries in the region are considering the contents of the 33rd SEA Games.
