Foreign players are an important color in the overall picture of V.League in recent years. From next season, the First Division can welcome new winds from outside of Vietnam, or there may also be a flow in the transfer market, when foreign players from V.League teams move to the First Division...
Of course, not only Vietnamese football, many other countries have been affected by the story of foreign players overwhelming opportunities of domestic players, as well as clubs becoming too dependent on physical and mental factors, leading to a dry, inflexible playing style, not having the necessary diversity to develop football. Therefore, it is important that the organizing unit - after listening to opinions from the teams - needs to synthesize and analyze both sides of any proposal.
On the positive side, of course, foreign players bring professional quality, high competitiveness, and diversity. But on the contrary, with the possible impacts, in addition to some of the above problems, does increasing the number of registrations but only allowing 3 players to the stadium as at present increase the financial burden for the club? And in particular, affecting the opportunities of domestic players, especially young players, is inevitable. Therefore, how much can be registered and used at the same time on the field is also worth considering.
There were regulations on the number of young players registered in the squad, but it seems that this is not very effective. Therefore, finding solutions to develop young players becomes even more important. Maybe, while there is a wave of foreign players coming in, there should also be a wave of young players going abroad. Not dreaming too far, difficult to achieve, looking for opportunities on each level.
But this possibility also depends on the individual ambitions of the players, which with the current situation of Vietnamese football, it is difficult to see a "wave of going abroad". So, what about a tournament exclusively for young players? This idea was mentioned in previous years, but has not been implemented due to many obstacles. However, adding foreign players becomes another reason to start implementing, because the World Cup goal does not come through short-term projects.
