Officially establish the Vietnam Sports Delegation to attend the 33rd SEA Games

The Vietnamese sports delegation competing in the 33rd SEA Games was officially established with 1,156 members aiming to finish in the top 3 finalists.

The sports industry officially issued a Decision to establish a Sports Delegation to participate in the 33rd SEA Games. According to the document signed and issued by the Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports, the Vietnam Sports Delegation was established on November 27.

Deputy Director of the Department of Physical Education and Sports of Vietnam Nguyen Hong Minh was assigned to be the Head of the delegation. In addition, the Vietnam Sports Delegation has 3 Deputy Heads: Mr. Hoang Quoc Vinh (Head of the High Performance Sports Department, Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports), Le Thanh Ha (Deputy Head of the High Performance Sports Department, Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports), Nguyen Ngoc Long (Deputy Director of the National Sports Training Center).

The Vietnam Sports Delegation was established with 2 forces of 952 members participating with state funding and 213 members coming from socialized funding from sports federations and associations.

In the Decision, the Vietnamese Sports Delegation will participate in the 33rd SEA Games, including athletics and physical exercise, aerobics, taekwondo, cycling, Karate, judo, sword fighting, wushu, pencak silat, muay, jujitsu, kickboxing, weightlifting, triathlon, swimming, dancing, weightlifting, table tennis, badminton, volleyball ( indoor, beach), golf, basketball, cloud bridge, iron ball, flag, shooting, archery, boxing, sailing, canoeing, rowing, traditional boats, men's football, women's football, futsal, figure skating, speed skating, bowling, mixed martial arts - MMA, badminton, mountain sports, mountain sports, mixed-ed-use, water-sports, water-sports, water-sports.

This is the first time that the Vietnam Sports Delegation has been established by the Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports instead of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as usual.

Vietnam's national teams have the most members such as athletics, video games, football, volleyball, volleyball, jujitsu...

Currently, the 4 teams of men's football, women's football, men's futsal, and women's futsal have not announced the official list to participate in the 33rd SEA Games. The members will be decided before going to Thailand to compete.

According to the registration, the men's football team has 31 members, the women's football team has 31 members, the men's futsal team has 20 members and the women's futsal team has 20 members.

The 33rd SEA Games will take place in Bangkok and Chonburi from December 9 to 20. It is expected that the Head of the Vietnam Sports Delegation, along with key officials and some national sports teams, will visit Thailand on December 7. After that, the teams participating in the 33rd SEA Games will base on the official competition schedule in their subjects.

The goal of the Vietnam Sports Delegation is to strive to be in the top 3 countries with a target of 80 to 100 gold medals. On the afternoon of November 28, the Vietnam Sports Delegation held a launching ceremony to participate in the 33rd SEA Games in Hanoi.
