On the afternoon of November 5, the Organizing Committee of the Ngo Boat Race of the Ooc Om Boc - Ngo Boat Race Festival in Can Tho City in 2025 held the closing ceremony.
This year's Ngo boat race has 61 men's and women's boat teams from inside and outside Can Tho City participating. The teams all have invested and prepared carefully from building new Ngo boats to the training process. In particular, many pagodas have newly built unique Ngo boats (from large wooden trunks carved into boats instead of joining pieces of wood together). Thereby, it brought many intense, dramatic competitions, attracting viewers.
After 2 days of dramatic competition, athletes of the Ngo boat team of Tum Nup pagoda (An Ninh commune, Can Tho city) excellently won the No. 1 position in both the men's and women's boat races. This is the third consecutive year that the two boat teams of this pagoda have successfully defended their championship title.
