Due to an error from the organizing committee of the 33rd SEA Games, Myanmar fans went to the wrong location for the women's football event.

Thai media reported that the mistake of the SEA Games organizing committee made it difficult for Myanmar fans to cheer on their home team. The reason is that the official website of the 2025 Southeast Asian Games mis posted the competition location.

Accordingly, the match between the Myanmar and Philippines women's teams will be held at the National University of Sports Stadium in Chonburi. However, on the SEA Games homepage, Chonburi is displayed. Therefore, Myanmar fans went to the wrong location to watch football.

M enough Myanmar fans were in a state of chaos when they went to watch the 33rd SEA Games women's football. The organizers recorded the wrong location, causing fans to come to the wrong stadium to host the match between Myanmar and the Philippines.

After that, the website of the 33rd SEA Games updated the correct competition location. And the organizers also spent a lot of time clarifying to Myanmar fans that Chonburi Stadium is not a venue, Thai newspaper wrote.

Fortunately for the Myanmar audience, the distance between the two locations was not too far, only about 7-8km. Therefore, many people had time to move to the National University of Sports Stadium in Chonburi to cheer for their home team.

In this match, the Myanmar women's team played well and defeated the Philippines women's team with a score of 2-1.

In fact, Chonburi Stadium was the venue for the match between the Vietnamese and Malaysian women's teams, but was mistaken for Myanmar and the Philippines. Similarly, the National University of Sports Stadium in Chonburi was mistaken for a competition venue for Vietnam and Malaysia.

Despite the wrong competition location, fans from Vietnam, Malaysia and the Philippines arrived at the right stadium thanks to timely updates. The rare case only happened to Myanmar fans.
