According to initial information, at around 4am, the fire suddenly appeared and spread quickly in a restaurant on Tran Hung Dao Street (Cau Ong Lanh Ward), the smoke and fire engulfed almost the entire house. The thick black smoke column rose tens of meters high, which could be observed from afar.
Immediately after receiving the report, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department (PC07), Ho Chi Minh City Police urgently mobilized forces and specialized ladder trucks to approach the scene. Rescue work was prioritized, focusing on searching and bringing the trapped people out.
After controlling the fire, the police brought about 8 people out in a state of smoke inhalation, transferred them to Saigon General Hospital and Gia Dinh People's Hospital for emergency care. However, 4 people died and some were injured.
Luckily, a boy was promptly taken down a safety safety ladder by the authorities. Firefighting work continues to be urgently deployed to prevent the fire from breaking out again.
Currently, Ho Chi Minh City Police are coordinating with relevant units to calculate initial damage and clarify the cause of the fire.
