On May 29, Ho Chi Minh City Police coordinated with Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports to organize a conference to summarize the Cooperation Program No. 09 between the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on organizing sports activities in the People's Police force in the period 2021-2025.
The conference also launched the "Healthy for National Security" Campaign for the period 2026-2030.
Attending the program were Major General Ta Van Dep - Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Police; Mr. Cao Van Chong - Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports and representatives of leaders of units of the two sectors.
According to the assessment at the conference, in the period 2021-2025, the coordination program has contributed to improving the spiritual and physical life of officers and soldiers; promoting the movement to train physical strength to serve the requirements of work and combat in the new situation.
Many sports activities are organized diversely and methodically, associated with the specific tasks of the People's Police force. Through this, many typical factors are discovered and nurtured to participate in city and national-level tournaments.
Besides the achieved results, representatives of the two sectors also recognized some difficulties such as coordination at some grassroots units not being synchronized; facilities and training grounds for specialized sports are still limited; maintaining the movement in some units is not regular.
From the above reality, the two units agreed to continue to promote coordination, linking the development of the physical education and sports movement with the goal of building a regular, elite, and modern Ho Chi Minh City Police force.
On this occasion, many collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing the 2021-2025 Coordination Program were commended and rewarded.
Immediately after the conference, Ho Chi Minh City Police and Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports signed a Coordination Program for the period 2026-2030. The two units will focus on standardizing regular physical training in the force; developing professional application sports such as Vovinam, shooting, swimming and diving; strengthening the exploitation of facilities to serve training, competition and promote digital transformation in the management of sports activities.
According to representatives of the organizing committee, this is a step to improve the combat capability, bravery and physical strength of officers and soldiers, contributing to building a revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern Ho Chi Minh City Police force in the new period.
