The event is part of a series of exciting sports activities to celebrate the 81st anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2026), and also marks the historic milestone of the first Pickleball World Cup held in Asia.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee Nguyen Manh Hung emphasized: "The greatest value of Heineken Pickleball World Cup 2026 lies not in the scale of the tournament, the number of matches or the number of visitors to the city, but in the convergence of many countries, languages, identities and different cultures in a common space. Sports bring strangers closer to each other; on the court, geographical distance is narrowed, language differences are no longer an obstacle".
According to Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, the tournament is not just a top-notch sports event but also a testament to the new development vision of the locality. Da Nang is not stopping at the image of a beautiful tourist destination, but is aiming for a larger goal of becoming a livable, worthwhile and lovely city. At the same time, the city is determined to affirm its position as a prestigious destination for international-scale events, playing the role of a center connecting people, knowledge, culture, sports, technology and business of the entire region.
The tournament gathers more than 5,000 male and female athletes representing 65 countries and territories around the world. Athletes will enter the competition in many attractive events from September 2nd.
In addition to official matches, within the framework of the event in Da Nang, there is also a series of rich activities such as exchange programs, training to connect sports with technology, World Market space and honoring 2 Guinness World Records, attracting thousands of domestic and foreign tourists to participate.
