Last year, Dang Thi Hong won the title of Best Attacker at the National Youth Club Volleyball Tournament and the National U23 Volleyball Tournament. Not only that, Dang Thi Hong participated in the 2024 National A-Class Volleyball Tournament with the Thai Nguyen team, thereby winning the title of Best Attacker in the women's category.
Dang Thi Hong came to the sport quite interestingly. This hitter is of the Dao ethnic group. When she was only 15 years old, Dang Thi Hong came from Slam Ve village (Nhan Mon commune, Pac Nam district, Bac Kan province) to Thai Nguyen sports to practice and get acquainted.
Dang Thi Hong once shared that her fate with volleyball was not by chance. When she learned that the Thai Nguyen Province Sports Training Center was recruiting female volleyball players, she asked her family to go there to apply for the gifted program. That time, Dang Thi Hong was accepted. "I still remember that at that time, when measuring my height, I did not meet the selection criteria, but in terms of jumping index, I met the criteria, so I was accepted," Dang Thi Hong once expressed.
At this time, Dang Thi Hong was still a player of Thai Nguyen women's volleyball team. However, realizing the outstanding professional ability of this player in the main attack position, many teams hired Dang Thi Hong to strengthen their squad.
During her time competing in the national championship, Dang Thi Hong played for many teams such as Kinh Bac Bac Ninh and LPBank Ninh Binh.
The Information Corps Women's Volleyball Team of the Army once hired Dang Thi Hong to strengthen their participation in the 2024 National Youth Club Tournament. The fact that a leading unit in athlete training still hired Dang Thi Hong to strengthen her team reflects the value of her expertise.
In 2025, Dang Thi Hong had a new change when the Thai Nguyen women's team accepted the player to play for the Vietinbank women's team in the 2025 National Volleyball Championship.
The key to this connection is that Dang Thi Hong will be coached by coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet. Mr. Kiet is also the head coach of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team.
Looking back at 2024, Dang Thi Hong is a member of the Vietnam U20 youth women's volleyball team that played effectively and won a place at the 2025 U21 Women's Volleyball World Cup.
