After graduating from high school, Wang Hao was admitted to Nankai University (Xianjin, China). During his time studying here, Wang Hao regularly represented the school to participate in national chess competitions. After graduating from Nankai, the 36-year-old player did not work in editing - publishing but packed his suitcase and traveled around the cities to compete in chess.
From the age of 18 to 28 years old, Wang Hao continuously competed and became a master of Chinese chess. In 2018, he started representing the Jiangsu team, progressing to become a professional chess player. In the same year, Wang Hao also won the highest prize in the 15th Weikai Cup competition.

At the international level, Wang Hao is a Master, equivalent to the International Master in Chess. Currently, he ranks 22nd in China, above many masters such as Xu Wenzhang, Chen Hongxing or Wang Jiahui.
Regarding his career, Wang Hao once said: "It was a road full of bumps. There were times when I wanted to quit chess, but in difficulties I found light and became a professional chess player.
Amateur chess competitions are the key for me to achieve the current position. I hope that amateur competitions will continue to be organized, discovering more masters in folk music, becoming a means to help them master their dreams.
