Vietnam Athletics has completed its competition journey at the 33rd SEA Games in full when completing the set target with 12 gold medals, thereby continuing to affirm its position as one of the spearhead sports of Vietnamese sports.

In total, Nguyen Thi Oanh won 15 gold medals at the SEA Games, equal the record of two Southeast Asian athletics legends, Jennifer Tin Lay (Myanmar) and Elma Muros (Philippines).

Returning to Vietnam Athletics, completing the target of 12 gold medals is not only a measure of success in terms of numbers, but also shows stability in the strategy and preparation process of the coaching staff and athletes of the teams/groups. This will be an important foundation for the sport to continue towards higher goals in the future.
