Binh Dinh - Because the football tournament coincides with the players' semester exam time, the Binh Dinh U19 Football team has asked to stop participating in the tournament.

On December 11, information from the Sports Training and Competition Center (Department of Culture and Sports of Binh Dinh province) said that this unit had sent a request to the Vietnam Football Federation regarding the Binh Dinh U19 Football team requesting not to participate in the 2025 National U19 Championship.

According to the regulations of the 2025 National U19 Championship, the first leg will take place from December 22, 2024 to January 2, 2025. The second leg will take place from January 4, 2025 to January 14, 2025.

The players in the Binh Dinh U19 Football team are 12th grade students at Nguyen Thai Hoc High School (Quy Nhon City) and the Binh Dinh Province Continuing Education Center.

Because the tournament's organization time coincides with the first semester exam time of the 2024-2025 school year, to ensure that athletes can focus on the first semester exam and achieve good results, Binh Dinh Sports Training and Competition Center reports to the Vietnam Football Federation not to participate in the 2025 National U19 Football Championship.

Regarding this issue, Mr. Luc Van Dung - Director of Binh Dinh Sports Training and Competition Center - said: "The center puts the students' learning first, if they don't participate in the tournament at the beginning of the year, they will still participate in the tournament at the end of 2025".

Mr. Bui Trung Hieu - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Dinh province - also said that he had received a report from the Sports Training and Competition Center about the above incident.
