The first tournament in the PPA Tour Asia system will take place from April 1 to 5 at My Dinh Athletics Palace (Hanoi), promising to bring top matches with big names on the international PPA Tour rankings.
The event is organized by UPA Asia, co-organized in Vietnam by New Sports - a unit that once marked the success of MB Vietnam Open 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City.
Up to now, more than 540 athletes have registered to participate in the PPA Tour 1000 MB Hanoi Cup. The tournament is expected to gather many players in the world's top 10, along with leading athletes in the region, creating a high professional level.
Prominent names in Vietnamese pickleball such as Ly Hoang Nam, Trinh Linh Giang, Phuc Huynh, Ken Tam and Sophia Phuong Anh have confirmed their participation, alongside top athletes in the region such as Jack Wong, Marco Leung, Yufei Long, Jamie Wei and Mayu Ito.
Notably, the tournament is also an opportunity for young talents who impressed at the National Youth Pickleball Championship 2025 and Vietnam Pickleball Open Cup Future Stars 2026 to continue to assert themselves. Among them are promising faces such as Dan Linh Huong, Tran Huy Bao Chau and Le Bao Lam.
From 2026, PPA Tour Asia will operate on a unified ranking system with Carvana PPA Tour. Accordingly, athletes competing at MB Hanoi Cup 2026 will be directly scored on the global ranking: the champion receives 1,000 points, runner-up 800 points, third place 400 points, fourth place 200 points, athletes stopping in the quarter-finals, round 1/16 and round 1/32 will also receive scores of 100, 50 and 25 respectively. This mechanism opens up clearer opportunities for competition and international integration for regional athletes.
The registration portal for professional and amateur athletes will be open until the end of March 9. With increasingly expanding scale and improved professional quality, MB Hanoi Cup 2026 is expected to create an impressive start to the season, and at the same time continue to affirm Vietnam's position in the development path of Asian pickleball.
