Meanwhile, the Vietnam General Martial Arts Federation wants to prepare its forces more carefully, so it agreed with the proposal of the professional department to report to the leaders of the Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports not to send young fighters to participate in the AyG 2025.
AYG 2025 will take place from October 22 to October 31 in Bahrain. MMA was included in the competition program of this Congress for the first time. Initially, the Vietnam General Martial Arts Federation developed a plan to send the MMA Team to compete with socialized funding.
According to regulations, the 2025 Asian Youth Sports Festival limits the age of athletes from 14 to 17.
At the end of August, the Vietnam MMA Team participated in the first Asian Youth MMA Championship in 2025 in Bahrain with 4 fighters Nguyen Dinh Huy, Lang Quoc Cuong, Vuong Tri Hai, Trieu Thu Thuy. In which, Trieu Thu Thuy won the bronze medal in the modern MMA weight class 45kg women's category.
This year, MMA is included in the 33rd SEA Games program in Thailand. It is expected that Vietnamese sports will register to participate in this sport.
