Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee - Mr. Le Truong Son chaired a meeting with representatives of Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Football Club and related departments and branches to listen to reports on activities and development orientations of the football team in the coming period.
At the meeting, the club representative said that after 2 seasons participating in the National First Division under the management of Truong Tuoi Group, the team has achieved impressive results with the bronze medal in the 2023-2024 season and the silver medal in the 2024-2025 season.
In the context of merging administrative units between Binh Phuoc and Dong Nai provinces (from July 1), the club proposed to change its name to Truong Tuoi Dong Nai Football Club, in order to match the name of the new province and demonstrate its determination to strongly transform.
Along with the proposal to change the name, the club hopes to invest in renovating and upgrading Dong Nai Stadium and using this place as its official home stadium in the near future. At the same time, it is recommended to continue exploiting Binh Phuoc Stadium as a supplementary competition and youth training location for the football academy.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Truong Son acknowledged the positive contributions of enterprises to the development of local football, and assigned the Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism to coordinate with relevant departments and branches to review legal procedures related to club name change and use of facilities.
The provincial leaders also suggested that Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc club receive and develop the Dong Nai football team, aiming to develop provincial football after the merger more sustainably and professionally in the future. The Provincial People's Committee will report to the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee for consideration and comments in accordance with regulations.
