In the afternoon of September 17, the U23 Vietnam team had a training session at Agui Athletics Stadium in Agui Sport sports complex (Nagoya, Japan) to prepare for the match against U23 Philippines.
The weather in Nagoya is quite favorable when it is sunny and the temperature is slightly cool. This is a good condition for coach Dinh Hong Vinh and his team to complete the final preparation steps before the match.
Before the training session, center-back Ly Duc was chosen to represent U23 Vietnam to answer the press. The captain of U23 Vietnam said that the whole team is preparing seriously and aiming for the goal of winning.
I and the whole team have had 2 days of gathering together, not too much. I think the rains in recent days have not affected the entire U23 Vietnam team much. That's because the weather in Hanoi is also very similar to this, sometimes sunny and sometimes rainy erratically, so we also have to try to adapt to suit the training time as well as the time to play in Nagoya," Ly Duc shared.
After the 1-1 draw against U23 Kuwait in the opening match, U23 Vietnam held a team meeting, reviewed the video to analyze the points that need to be improved. According to Ly Duc, the players were given conditions to recover their fitness before entering the tactical training session.
Yesterday, the whole team practiced to relax so that all brothers could rest and recover to the best. Coach Dinh Hong Vinh also reminded us to try our best, the spirit must always be ready to fight.

In addition to improving defense, the U23 Vietnam coaching staff also focused on movement to create space and exploit set pieces.
Ly Duc said that the whole team has clearly defined the goal against U23 Philippines: "In addition to defense, the coaching staff also set out goals and movement tactics to create more space, taking full advantage of set pieces to score goals.
Personally, I and the whole team set the highest determination, will play with 100% ability. We are determined to win all 3 points against U23 Philippines to create momentum for the Vietnamese sports delegation at ASIAD 2026".
The match between U23 Vietnam and U23 Philippines takes place at 1:30 PM on September 18 (Vietnam time). After drawing with U23 Kuwait, U23 Vietnam needs to improve their ability to take advantage of opportunities to aim for favorable results in the second match.
