On November 6, Mr. Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet - Director of the Department of Physical Education and Sports of Vietnam and professional units met to encourage the Board Football Team to go to China for training. This is an important training session to prepare for the 33rd SEA Games.
The training program will last 3 weeks. Accordingly, the members will be carefully prepared with professional factors to confidently find the best form at the 33rd SEA Games in December in Thailand.
The Vietnamese table tennis team participating in the 33rd SEA Games has identified 10 official players including Dinh Anh Hoang, Nguyen Anh Tu, Nguyen Duc Tuan, Doan Ba Tuan Anh, Le Dinh Duc, Nguyen Thi Nga, Bui Ngoc Lan, Nguyen Khoa Dieu Khanh, Tran Mai Ngoc and Mai Hoang My Trang. In particular, Dinh Anh Hoang and Tran Mai Ngoc won gold medals in the men's and women's doubles event at the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia in 2023.
The goal of the Vietnam Table Tennis Team is to strive to win a gold medal at the 33rd SEA Games.
Therefore, the professional focus is on the 10 players with the best form at the moment. According to the coaching staff, each tennis player has its own strengths, but the coaching staff will find the best professional preparation options.
The table tennis competition of the 33rd SEA Games has 7 competitions including men's team, women's team, men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles, mixed doubles. The Vietnamese table tennis team will decide which content players will participate in after the training program in China.
This is the first time the Vietnam Table Tennis Team has gathered in 2025. However, the training program conducted right in China helped the players achieve the most excitement in spirit.
For the 33rd SEA Games, the Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports assigned professional tasks to the coaching staff, including head coach Vu Van Trung, assistant coaches Dinh Quang Linh and Phan Huy Hoang.
According to the prepared plan, the players will train and compete in a friendly tournament in China. In early December, the Vietnam Table Tennis Team returned home to go to Thailand.
At the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia, Vietnamese tennis players won 1 gold medal, 1 silver medal and 4 bronze medals.
