The force of the Vietnam Table Tennis Team participating in the 33rd SEA Games has been identified including 10 names: Dinh Anh Hoang, Nguyen Anh Tu, Nguyen Duc Tuan, Doan Ba Tuan Anh, Le Dinh Duc (men) and Nguyen Thi Nga, Nguyen Khoa Dieu Khanh, Bui Ngoc Lan, Tran Mai Ngoc, Mai Hoang My Trang (women).
This is the first time the Vietnam Table Tennis Team has gathered in 2025. However, the training session's only goal is to participate in the 33rd SEA Games.
Previously, the Vietnam Table Tennis Federation proposed 20 concentrated faces, but after consideration, the Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports reviewed the force to select 10 people to ensure the task of the 33rd SEA Games.
The goal of the Vietnam Table Tennis Team at the 33rd SEA Games is to strive to win at least 1 gold medal. In the list of 10 players gathered, 2 players Dinh Anh Hoang and Tran Mai Ngoc won the gold medal in the men's and women's doubles at the 32nd SEA Games in 2023 in Cambodia.
Last year, the Vietnam Table Tennis Team participated in the 2024 Southeast Asian Championship in Malaysia. The team won 1 gold medal (athlete Nguyen Khoa Dieu Khanh), 3 silver medals (Nguyen Duc Tuan/Doan Ba Tuan Anh; Nguyen Thi Nga/Mai Hoang My Trang; Nguyen Anh Tu) and 2 bronze medals (Nguyen Duc Tuan, Dinh Anh Hoang).
The Vietnamese table tennis team began gathering in Hanoi on November 7. Coach Vu Van Trung was assigned the task of being the head coach of the team this time.
