The Kun Khmer Vietnam team has completed the competition program of the 2026 World Championships, which just closed on February 14th in Sihanoukville (Cambodia).
This year is the 6th time the world kun Khmer championship has been held.
In this participation, we sent 35 martial artists to compete in the men's and women's events. At the end of the competitions, the Vietnamese martial artists achieved a total of 18 gold medals, 8 silver medals and 10 bronze medals, ranking first.
The host team Cambodia won 17 gold medals, 15 silver medals and 5 bronze medals, ranking second and third belonged to the Indonesian team with results of 2 gold medals, 2 silver medals, 3 bronze medals.
This year is the 6th year the world championship in Kun Khmer is held.
46 events were organized in this tournament and 20 teams had athletes win medals in the competition.
Representatives of the Vietnamese Khmer Kun Team said that in this tournament, the World Khmer Kun Federation organized elections for the new Executive Committee for the 2026-2030 term. The representative of Vietnam, Mr. Ho Thanh Liem, was elected to the Federation Standing Committee, holding the position of Vice President of the Federation. Khmer Kun has been included in the high-achievement competition program of the Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports.
