According to information from the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), the Vietnam U15 women's team will participate in the CommBank Emerging Championships 2026 youth football tournament in Australia, taking place from April 9 to April 15, at the invitation of the Australian Football Federation.
In this tournament, Vietnam U15 women's team will compete in the CommBank Emerging Matildas Championships event, held at the Home of the Matildas Center (Bundoora). This is a playground for U15 women's teams, aimed at discovering and nurturing young talents of regional football.
The participation of Vietnam U15 women's team is expected to bring opportunities for international exchange for young players, and at the same time create more diversity in expertise for the tournament. Representatives of the Australian Football Federation said that inviting international teams to participate will help improve professional quality and create conditions for young players of this country to get acquainted with many different playing styles.
In recent years, Vietnamese women's football has made many remarkable progress. The national women's team participated in the 2023 World Cup for the first time, and also reached the quarter-finals of the most recent Asian Cup and achieved many achievements in regional arenas such as the SEA Games.
