In the late afternoon of March 16, at the Government Headquarters, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a meeting of the Standing Committee of the Government to continue to give opinions on solutions to ensure supply and stabilize gasoline and oil prices.
According to the Government Office, after listening to reports, opinions, and conclusions of the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the ministries, sectors, and relevant agencies for promptly implementing the Prime Minister's directions and organizing the implementation of ensuring supply and stabilizing gasoline and oil prices in the context of the complicated Middle East conflict situation.
The Prime Minister emphasized the urgent requirement not to let gasoline and oil shortages occur in any case, while prices are regulated by the market and the State, and price stabilization measures are implemented flexibly, appropriately, effectively, ensuring and harmonizing the interests between the State, people and businesses.
Strictly prohibit hoarding goods, inflating prices and taking advantage of policies for profit, causing market disruption.
The Head of Government directed ministries, branches, and relevant agencies, including the Ministry of Public Security, to intervene to inspect, examine and strictly handle violations if any.

The Prime Minister also requested to review and reduce taxes, fees, and charges related to gasoline and oil to support businesses and people in the current context, to be submitted before March 20.
In necessary conditions, if the conflict situation in the Middle East lasts, it is necessary to review and summarize reports to competent authorities to consider allocating budget to support gasoline and oil price stabilization, with the spirit of taking production, business and people's lives as the main pillars to build policies, ensuring stable production, business and people's lives, minimizing impacts.
The Prime Minister requested specific and clear assignment of responsibilities between relevant ministries and sectors and must closely coordinate with each other in implementing measures to manage and stabilize gasoline and oil prices.
Government members urgently give opinions on the draft Resolution amending Resolution 36 of the regular Government Meeting in February on contents related to the issue of gasoline and oil management for early promulgation.
The Prime Minister assigned Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc to directly direct the contents related to tax, fee, and charge policies; Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son directly directed the contents related to market stabilization and state management of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
