The star brought media attention
Before Thanh Thuy left Japan to return home, VTV Binh Dien Long An team registered this main attacker in the list of 14 official players to participate in round 1 of the 2026 National Club Championship (opening on April 6).
As soon as they grasped the information that Thanh Thuy returned to Vietnam to compete, the media shared this noteworthy information. When the main hitter was directly present in Dong Anh (Hanoi) and went to the field to compete on the afternoon of April 14, the latest images of Thanh Thuy were fully posted on social networking platforms as well as major newspapers across the country.
Representatives of the Professional Supervisory Board of Round 1 of the 2026 National Club Championship shared at Dong Anh (Hanoi): "We are not talking about expertise but see that when a player receives media attention and is eagerly awaited by the audience, the attraction for the tournament becomes even stronger. This is a good thing that Vietnamese volleyball has in recent years".
Before Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, 2 players Tran Thi Bich Thuy and Ly Thi Luyen (Duc Giang Chemicals) returned to Vietnam to compete after the final stage of competition abroad. Witnessing middle blocker Bich Thuy taking the field, all spectators at Dong Anh Gymnasium (Hanoi) gave out loud applause to cheer for the players.
Reality shows that round 1 of this year's tournament is a rare time that Vietnamese women's volleyball has players who just finished playing abroad and returned home early and then went to the field to compete, serving domestic audiences.
At the Vietnam Economic Forum 2026, a sharing was made very accurately by the representative of the Organizing Committee that: "Each tournament needs outstanding athletes and stars with good expertise to build a brand. Their image has a great impact on society. They bring very good communication value, thereby enhancing the value of the tournament".
Is expertise improved?
This is still a question that many people ask in cases where Vietnamese players go abroad to play and then return home. With 3 faces Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Tran Thi Bich Thuy and Ly Thi Luyen, the actual performance of them in round 1 of the 2026 National Club Championship shows that they are still hitters who are maintaining their professional peak.
Sharing with the media, middle blocker Bich Thuy said that she has learned many specialties when competing in Japan. "I have improved myself as well as gained experience to return to compete in tournaments in Vietnam. For me or any Vietnamese player, every time I go abroad to compete brings a valuable result," Bich Thuy said.
The professional quality of the national championship is always evaluated by the Vietnam Volleyball Federation after each organization cycle. From professional data to form, the number of domestic and foreign players competing will provide an overview for managers to adjust, if there is no suitability. When Vietnamese female players are allowed to play more abroad, the professional techniques of many players with modern volleyball are changing significantly.
The expertise of the athlete will directly affect the team's performance. When players go abroad to compete, they maintain their professionalism. When they return home, they maintain that style as well as have more exchanges with teammates, which is very useful," said Mr. Tran Thanh Tung, representative of the Professional Supervisory Board.
Vietnamese women's volleyball is receiving attention from fans and society. In particular, cases of achieving good results abroad such as Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Tran Thi Bich Thuy, Ly Thi Luyen are players who are capable of helping Vietnamese women's volleyball become more internationally known.
