The 2026 National Marathon Championship took place on March 29 in Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa). At the race, the marathon - 42km men's and women's professional events were counted as achievements of the X-2026 National Sports Games.
According to regulations, the Vietnam Anti-Doping Center will conduct doping testing samples (random form) for athletes competing in the events of the X-2026 National Sports Games. However, in Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa), doping testing samples were not conducted even though there were officials of the Vietnam Anti-Doping Center at the tournament.
Through research, the framework regulations of the X-2026 National Sports Games issued by the Ministry of Culture, Sports & Tourism stipulate the official competition program from November 20 to December 12.
Currently, the doping-medical sub-committee of the X-2026 National Sports Games has not been established.
Therefore, officials of the Vietnam Anti-Doping Center do not have enough legal basis to take doping samples to test athletes in the professional marathon - 42km men's and women's events at the 2026 National Marathon Championship, Tien Phong Newspaper.
The preparation for the establishment of the doping-medical sub-committee of the X-2026 National Sports Games is being implemented soon by the Organizing Committee.
Before competing in the 2026 National Marathon Championship, the athlete attended a doping prevention and education class of the Vietnam Anti-Doping Center. The athlete must have completed a certificate on doping prevention before being officially allowed to compete.
All athletes participating in the X-2026 National Sports Games must do this. The National Sports Games will officially organize competitions in 48 sports.
