On March 26 in Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa), the Organizing Committee of the 67th National Marathon Championship - Tien Phong Newspaper - 2026 held a meeting with the press to provide information about the tournament.
With the theme "Welcoming the dawn", the National Tien Phong Newspaper Marathon Championship 2026 is the 67th time it has been held, attracting more than 12,000 professional and amateur athletes to compete.
Notably, the professional marathon – 42km men's and marathon – 42km women's events at the tournament will count achievements of the X-2026 National Sports Games program.
Therefore, the assurance of running standards and security, safety, and medical work for all athletes has been closely inspected by the Organizing Committee and implemented in accordance with regulations.
Journalist Phung Cong Suong - Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper - Head of the Organizing Committee of the National Marathon Championship - Tien Phong Newspaper 67th - 2026, said that all preparations for the tournament are on schedule. Some tasks have been fully prepared, some tasks are being completed at 90-95%.
Also according to the Organizing Committee, another special point is that the men's and women's marathon events of the tournament will be counted for achievements at the National Sports Games, promising fierce competitions of professional athletes.
Representatives of the Vietnam Athletics Federation and the Vietnam Sports Administration inspected the competition routes according to the Organizing Committee's schedule.
Athletes will compete in 4 distance groups for professional and amateur men and women, including 5km, 10km, 21km and 42km on coastal roads of Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa).
Not only stopping at expertise, the Organizing Committee of the tournament also implemented a meaningful socio-cultural activity program. In which, the flag-raising ceremony at the Gac Ma Soldiers Memorial Area with the meaning of gratitude, towards the sea and islands, the program "Standing side by side with fishermen clinging to the sea" awarding 15 houses of gratitude and 300 water tanks to fishermen in difficult circumstances, Expo activities, art galas promoting agarwood tourism... were carried out.
The tournament continues to attract many famous Vietnamese athletes to participate such as Nguyen Van Lai, Hoang Nguyen Thanh, Nguyen Thi Oanh, Hoang Thi Ngoc Hoa, Pham Thi Hong Le... On the morning of March 29, the distances will begin.
The tournament will have doping tests in accordance with the regulations of the X-2026 National Sports Festival.
