In order to meet the requirements, the 2026 National Volleyball Championship will be renamed this year.

According to Lao Dong's investigation, the 2026 National Volleyball Championship will be renamed the 2026 National Club Volleyball Championship.

The change of the new name is to ensure compliance with the regulations of the Vietnam Sports Administration when the tournaments held during the year do not affect the X-2026 National Sports Games.

According to regulations, the competition program of the sport belonging to the X-2026 National Sports Games will be considered as a national championship achievement.

In January 2026, the Vietnam Volleyball Federation issued the Organizing Regulations of the 2026 National Volleyball Championship (now the new name of the 2026 National Club Volleyball Championship).

The tournament still retains 8 men's teams participating, including Bien Phong MB (reigning champion), The Cong Tan Cang, Ho Chi Minh City Police, LPBank Ninh Binh, Hanoi, Sanest Khanh Hoa, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City.

There are 8 women's teams qualified to participate, including VTV Binh Dien Long An (reigning champion), LPBank Ninh Binh, Binh Chung Thong Tin, Vietinbank, Duc Giang Chemicals, Long Son Thanh Hoa Cement, Hung Yen and Hanoi.

The two newcomers of this year's tournament are men's Ho Chi Minh City and women's Hanoi. These are the teams that won promotion from the 2025 National Volleyball League A.

The registration of players for the 2026 National Club Volleyball Championship is still implemented as in the issued Charter.

Round 1 of the tournament will be held in Dong Anh (Hanoi) from April 6 to 19. 4. Round 2 of the tournament will be held in Vinh Long from October 14 to October 25 and the men's event in Ho Chi Minh City from October 28 to November 8.
