This season is considered a remarkable milestone for Vietnamese women's football when for the first time the league format is applied, teams play at the registered stadiums of each club instead of organizing gatherings as before.
According to the plan, the opening ceremony of the tournament will take place at Thai Nguyen Stadium. This is expected to be a new step in the journey to improve the quality of organization, increase competitiveness and gradually professionalize Vietnamese women's football.
Representatives of the organizing committee said that the Vietnam Football Federation is coordinating with localities and clubs to complete preparations for facilities, security, health, media and competition operation to ensure the best conditions for the new season.
The fact that clubs directly host home matches is assessed to help women's football get closer to local fans, while creating motivation for teams to invest more heavily in organization and image building.
In the new model, the team of local coordinators plays an important role in connecting the tournament organizers, clubs and functional units to ensure that matches take place synchronously, safely and professionally.
Another highlight of this season is the FIFA's companionship through the Women's League Development Program (FIFA League Development Programme). The support program focuses on the fields of organization, media and improving league operational capacity.
Support from FIFA and changes in the organizational model are expected to create more motivation for the development of Vietnamese women's football in the new period, especially in the context that clubs are gradually improving professionalism and moving towards continental playgrounds.
Previously, the Vietnam Football Federation also confirmed that the champion of the 2026 National Women's Championship will win the right to participate in the 2027-2028 Asian Women's Club Championship. This is considered an important motivation for teams to invest in expertise and improve the quality of their forces.
With changes in the organization method and support from FIFA, the National Women's Football Championship - Thai Son Bac Cup 2026 is expected to create a new face both in terms of expertise and image, contributing to promoting the development of Vietnamese women's football in the coming time.
