Vietnamese women's football continues to record progress in the continental arena when ranking 6th in Asia in the women's club rankings for the 2025-2026 season announced by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
This is an important ranking for AFC to determine participation slots as well as seed groups for the qualifying and group stages of Asian Women's Club Championships in the 2027-2028 season.
According to AFC's announcement, Vietnamese club-level women's football achieved a total of 68,522 points. In which, the achievements of clubs contributed 44,750 points, accounting for 70%, and points from the Vietnamese women's national team contributed 23,772 points, equivalent to 30%.

Notably, Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club has made a strong impression at the AFC Women's Champions League 2025-2026 when playing impressively and contributing to improving the position of Vietnamese women's football in the continental rankings.
Being in the top 6 helps Vietnamese women's representatives have more advantages in the AFC's competition system in the upcoming seasons.
Leading the rankings is Australia with a major contribution from Melbourne City FC - the team that reached the semi-finals of the AFC Women's Champions League 2025-2026 after a group stage win, scoring 17 goals and not conceding a goal. Japan ranked 2nd thanks to Tokyo Verdy Beleza's runner-up achievement, while South Korea ranked 3rd with a mark from Suwon FC Women.
North Korea is the team with the strongest progress in the rankings. Naegohyang Women's FC's AFC Women's Champions League title helps the country's women's football rise to 5th place in Asia.
AFC's scorecard is calculated based on the achievements of clubs in the AFC Women's Champions League 2025-2026 combined with national team scores according to the FIFA Women's World Ranking announced on April 21, 2026.
