In the first semi-final match held on the afternoon of May 23, Ho Chi Minh City experienced a dramatic confrontation with Phong Phu Ha Nam. Ha Nam's young team entered the game confidently and created a surprise when leading 2-0 in just a few minutes at the end of the first half.
In the 39th minute, Lan Anh took advantage of the chaotic situation in the penalty area to open the score for Phong Phu Ha Nam. Just two minutes later, Vu Thi Hoa doubled the gap after Luu Hoang Van's assist, putting the defending champion in a difficult position.
Being led by two goals, coach Doan Thi Kim Chi brought Huynh Nhu onto the field to increase attacking power. This adjustment quickly worked when Thu Thao narrowed the score to 1-2 in injury time of the first half with a beautiful finish.

In the second half, Ho Chi Minh City continuously increased pressure and found an equalizer in the 81st minute thanks to Hong Nhung. Drawing 2-2 after official play time, the two teams entered the penalty shootout. Goalkeeper Kim Thanh shined with two successful saves, helping Ho Chi Minh City win 3-0 on penalties to win a ticket to the final.
In the remaining semi-final, Thai Nguyen T&T and Hanoi I created a tight match with few dangerous opportunities. After 90 minutes without goals, the two teams also had to enter a penalty shootout to determine the winner.
Here, goalkeeper Van Lien became the hero of Hanoi I when he successfully saved two shots from the opponent. The Capital team won 4-2 on penalties, thereby entering the final match of the tournament.
With this result, Ho Chi Minh City will meet Hanoi I in the final of the 2026 National Women's Football Cup at 7:00 PM on May 27th at Thai Nguyen Stadium. Previously, Thai Nguyen T&T and Phong Phu Ha Nam will compete for third place at 4:00 PM on the same day.
