Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi I successively defeated Phong Phu Ha Nam and Thai Nguyen T&T in the penalty shootout to win tickets to the final of the 2026 Women's National Cup.

In the first semi-final match held on the afternoon of May 23, Ho Chi Minh City experienced a dramatic confrontation with Phong Phu Ha Nam. Ha Nam's young team entered the game confidently and created a surprise when leading 2-0 in just a few minutes at the end of the first half.

In the 39th minute, Lan Anh took advantage of the chaotic situation in the penalty area to open the score for Phong Phu Ha Nam. Just two minutes later, Vu Thi Hoa doubled the gap after Luu Hoang Van's assist, putting the defending champion in a difficult position.

Being led by two goals, coach Doan Thi Kim Chi brought Huynh Nhu onto the field to increase attacking power. This adjustment quickly worked when Thu Thao narrowed the score to 1-2 in injury time of the first half with a beautiful finish.
