The 36-year-old striker shared his decision with the club's board and coach Giovanni van Bronckhorst on the morning of May 17 local time. He will train with the team until this weekend before taking on another job.

dirk Kuyt made his debut in the Dutch Championship (Eredivisie) for FC Ultrecht in the 1998-1999 season. After 5 seasons playing here, he moved to Feyenoord. During his time at Feyenoord in 2003 2006, dirk Kuyt was the team's top scorer.
He joined Liverpool in 2006 and played there until 2012. In addition to 71 goals in 285 appearances for The Kop, he also won the League Cup with this team in the 2011-12 season.
